Only two people from the club having responded to their notice. Thanks to Keith and Alison for their efforts in trying to arrange the meal just sorry there was lack of support and interest from members to repeat the successful one you organised earlier in the year.

Sunday 25th Nov, being the last Sunday of the month, was schedued to be an IOM racing day. However as the following Sunday 2 Dec is the Icicle Trophy meeting it has been decided that it would be unfair to the DF65 fleet to loose two consecutive Sunday’s therefore the IOM’s will give up their alloted end of month slot for November in favour of the Dragonforce 65’s.
Members are reminded that the Coalhouse Fort project are holding their annual service of remembrance on 25th Nov. The race officer of the day will call a halt to racing in order for members to observe the two min silence in joint respect with the service going on within the fort.

The club is looking to establish a register of members who are willing to help out on Club Open days, District and National event race days. Various tasks have to be undertaken, Particularly with assistance to move equipment to and from the storage area in the fort. Without volunteers to help run these events and lend a hand with things it will become increasingly difficult to consider the club hosting events.

Sunday 11th Nov 2018 – DF65 Autumn series Round 5
As everyone will be aware this coming Sunday 11 Nov 2018 sees the 100th Anniversary of the end of The Great War.
Coalhouse fort and the surrounding grounds played an important role during WW1 as both a defence of London location and as a training and embarkation point for men and women who were going off to war.
This anniversary is being marked with acts of respect around the globe and it is felt that we should also join in with our mark of respect to the men and women of all nations who fell.
To this end on Sunday 11 Nov all boats will be taken off the water by 10:55 am, any race in progress being abandoned. A two min silence will be observed at 11am in line with all other acts of remembrance.
Sunday 25th November 2018 – IOM monthly
Annually each year the Coalhouse Fort Project holds a service of remembrance. With this year marking the 100th Anniversary a larger than normal event will be taking place.
The club has a very close relationship with the Project and in deference to their act of remembrance and service on this day. Boats will be taken off the water by 10:55 am, any race in progress being abandoned.
A two min silence will be observed at 11am in line with the Project.
In both cases the race officer of the day will signal the end of the observance and our activities will be resumed.
