Mid-week IOM Championship Series (Round 12)

The final round of the Winter Mid-week IOM Championship Series took place on a wet and windy Wednesday 22nd March 2017. A strong wind primarily from the S and veering to the SSW meant that a windward/leeward course was used at the northern end of the lake with two rounds, starting between marks 1 and 2 up to mark 8, back to mark 2, up to mark 8, back to mark 2 and finish between marks 5 and 6.

Most skippers used No. 2 sails although Graham Bartholomew and Geoff Appleton used No. 3, with Malcolm Schaffer starting on No. 2 sails but after race 2 retiring with various issues. Colin Goodman was the overall winner on 6 points, with 8 wins, followed by Vernon Appleton on 13 points and Graham Bartholomew third with 15 points.

Being the final round, this now leaves Colin Goodman as the overall winner of the Winter Mid-week IOM Championship Series with 7 points, followed by Vernon Appleton on 10 points and Graham Bartholomew third on 22 points.

Round 1 of the Spring Mid-week IOM Championship Series will take place on Wednesday 12th April 2017, whilst Round 1 of the IOM Monthly Championship will take place next Wednesday 29th March 2017.
