Round 4 of the ‘Frozen feet’ Winter Championship Series for Dragon Flite 95 (DF95) boats took place on Sunday 29th January 2017.
Nine Skippers sharing eight Dragon Flite 95’s were greeted to an overcast morning with a SW 5 to 10 mph wind increasing in the afternoon to gusts in the high teens. This allowed a windward leeward coarse with two rounds and a short beat to the finish after the final run, allowing 12 races on an unchanged coarse. Adrian Buswell visiting from Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club on Hayling Island immediately ran into receiver problems which unfortunately stopped him sailing and a long drive home. Our second visitor Adrian Tomlinson from Ramsgate, carried on as he left off, from the last round taking three firsts and six seconds, finishing in second place at the end of the day from Denise Graham in third. The days winner was Buzz Coleman, having had a troubled start to the day with to many prestart penalties and a hook-up on a buoy, finally managed to put a constant run of results.
It was another great days racing of this relatively new class with a very friendly and clean atmosphere between all competitors, with help and advice freely available to all.
Round 5 will be held on the 26th February and we hope to see you all there. ‘
