Round 1 of the 2016 Frozen Fingers (Dragon Force 65) took place on Sunday 16th October on what turned out to be a bright and blustery day. Initially it looked as if it was going to be quite wet, but it soon brightened up with a strong breeze primarily for the SSE veering from time to time to SSW.
With the wind veering only slightly it was a consistent triangle and sausage in the middle of the course. Since Dennis Graham only had No. 1 sails everybody started on these but some changed down to No. 2 as it was quite strong.
John Lambert and George Patten missed the first few races, and various skippers had some issues, including Dennis Graham with a winch issue, Steve Bines and John Newton who both had rudder problems and George Patten with a snapped main sail sheet.
With some consistent racing Dennis Graham was the overall winner on 12 points, followed by John Newton on 19 points and John Lambert third on 26 points, having missed the first four races.
