Congratulations to Dennis Graham on taking first place at the Sunday Dragon Force 65 event on 4th September 2016. It was an overcast day with the wind primarily from the West, that is over the Fort, which caused many problems. The initial course was 2 rounds of a windward/leeward sausage in the middle of the lake, but this caused so many problems that it was decided to move to the south end of the lake, starting between marks 7 and 11; down to 5; back to the un-numbered white mark and then finish between mark 5 and the bank.
Everybody started on No. 1 rigs although part way through the day Malcolm Schaffer changed down to No. 2. Ian Kemp started the day but after several races experienced electrical issues and so retired. Although four skippers managed at least one win, Dennis Graham was much more consistent and so was the overall winner on 11 points, followed by John Lambert on 14 points and John newton third on 21 points.

Just a reminder there will be no organised racing at Coalhouse Fort next Sunday 11th September as a number of us will be participating in the Essex Country Show at Barleylands, Billericay. Also the following Sunday, 18th September, we will be at the Upriver Yacht Club in Hullbridge (Next to the Anchor Pub) – more details to follow.
