Sunday Dragon Force 65 (28/08/16)

Congratulations to Glenn Meekcoms from Southend MBC on winning the Sunday DF65 racing. It was a very pleasant day with a reasonable wind coming from the SW veering to WSW at times, and so a windward/leeward course was set in the middle of the lake. The start was between marks 7 and 10, down to six, back to 10, down to six, back to 10 and finish between 6 and the lifebelt.

Whilst John Newton had a few good races initially he had to leave early, which left Glenn Meekcoms and John Lambert together with Malcolm Schaffer to fight for top spot. Towards the end, Dennis Graham who changed up from second suit to top suit, started to come good but had left it too late.

Glenn’s consistency enabled him to take top spot on 17 points, followed by John Lambert on 26 points and Dennis Graham third on 28 points. Unfortunately Malcolm Schaffer missed the last four races, otherwise he would almost certainly have been up there in the top mix.
