Sunday 7th August 2016 was initially overcast but very soon brightened up to be a glorious warm sunny day. The wind was primarily from the WSW but reasonably strong and caused some issues for various skippers. As the day progressed, the wind backed more to the SW and increased in strength.
Whilst Dave Sellens initially started the first race he suffered a rudder issue and so retired for the day. Malcolm Schaffer suffered a winch issue mid way through but rectified it to continue; Ian Kemp had to leave early and then Dave Bland and Dennis Graham suffered issues for the last couple of races. John Lambert started the day badly but gradually made his mark winning four of the last five races.
At the end of the day John Newton was the winner on 12 points followed by Malcolm Schaffer on 18 points and John Lambert third on 20 points.
