Summer Mid-week IOM Championship (20/07/16)

Round 3 of the Summer Mid-week IOM Championship Series took place on Wednesday 20th July, on what turned out to be a warm summers day. The wind, which was initially strong and from the SW enabled the use of  No.2 sails,  although as the day progressed the wind eased, Colin Goodman was the only skipper to change up to No. 1 sails.

Although 5 skippers finished racing, several others initially arrived, namely John Newton still having teething problems; Geoff Appleton with water ingress into the pot; John Lambert with a jib swivel issue, and Peter Herbert who did not have a suitable No.2 set of sails.

However, on the day, Colin Goodman was the overall winner on 10 points, followed by Graham Bartholomew on 19 points, and Vernon Appleton third on 36 points, despite missing the last four races.
