It was a partly cloudy, warm day on Sunday 17th July with the wind coming from the west. This caused some real problems as the wind was coming from both sides of the Fort and over the top, creating several holes which skippers had to cope with. The course was a triangle and a leg, with a wind varying both in strength and direction, such that the start and finish changed ends from race to race.
Whilst Dave Sellens started the day, after four races he discovered that his goose had snapped and was therefore unable to continue. Apart from two races, which John Lambert won, John Newton won the rest, thereby being the winner on the day with 9 points, followed by John Lambert on 19 and Rodney Latham third on 26 points.
