Whilst initially it was somewhat overcast, as the day wore on so the sun shone and it turned out to be a warm day with the wind primarily from the WSW but veering to the w at times. Two roundings of a windward/leeward course in the middle of the lake was the order of the day, but with the wind from the direction it was and the varying strength, caused some holes which created problems for skippers. Unfortunately Dave Sellens had to leave early due to family commitments, but apart from that everybody else sailed without too many issues. The wind did strengthen for the latter races which if you got a good start was helpful and Ian Kemp and John Weedon found out.
John Newton appeared to cope with the conditions better than most and as a consequence was the overall winner on 11 points, followed by Malcolm Schaffer on 14 points and John Weedon third on 24 points.
