Wednesday 29th June was not part of the Mid-week Championship series, but nevertheless there was some close racing. It was an overcast day with a strong breeze primarily from the SSW and so it was two rounding of a windward/leeward course at the southern end of the lake, using marks 6 and 11 as the start and finis,h with mark 12 as the windward mark and the unnumbered white mark as the leeward mark.
It would appear a number of skippers suffered various issues by virtue of the fact that they either did not finish or did not start. Whilst Graham Bartholomew gave challenge to Colin Goodman at times, Colin was more consistent and so was the overall winner on the day on 7 points, with Graham Bartholomew second on 13 points and Vernon Appleton third on 19 points.
Next Wednesday 6th July is the start of the Summer Mid-week IOM Championship Series, so let’s see all you IOM owners out there having some fun.
