Round 10 of the Spring Mid-week IOM Championship Series took place on Wednesday 8th June. Whilst the wind was predicted to be ENE, what little there was initially was from the SSW in the main. As the day went on it strengthened and backed to SSE and eventually ESE. As such the initial course was a windward/leeward at the south end of the lake, but was eventually moved for the last two races to the middle of the lake.
Nobody appeared to have any major issues, apart from Geoff Appleton and John Horsfield at the beginning of race 3 causing Geoff to retire for that race. There was some quite close racing at the front between Colin Goodman, Graham Bartholomew and Vernon Appleton, with Colin coming out on top with 8 points, followed by Graham on 11 points and Vernon third on 20 points.
Being Round 10 and four discards, Colin Goodman still leads the Spring Mid-week IOM Championship on 6 points, followed by Vernon Appleton and Graham Bartholomew both on 11 points, but Vernon taking second place based on count back. It is very close for fourth place with Ray Bland and John Newton both on 25 points, Malcolm Schaffer on 26 points and Geoff Appleton on 27 points.
