DF65 Racing on Sunday 24th April was at the North end of the lake with a NW strong breeze and a partly cloudy day with a windward/leeward course.
We welcomed a new member, Jim La Roche who is relatively new to the sport, together with Glenn Meekcoms and Angela Mears who turned up somewhat late – but better late than never!!
There was some very close racing at times, both at the front and in the middle of the fleet, with everybody doing their penalty turns as required.
At the end of the day, John Newton was the overall winner with 19 points, just one point in front of Glenn Meekcoms on 20 points and Malcolm Schaffer third on 38 points. Angela would have been much higher had she turned up on time; John Lambert if his transmitter battery had not given out, and Jim La Roche if he had not had a problem with his receiver.

Just a quick reminder, next week, 1st May 2016, is the Coventry Trophy & EDCS 2 for IOM boats, but the following Sunday, 8th May 2016, is the DF65 Charity event for DF65 in aid of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Fund – please let me know if you plan to enter either of these events as soon as possible. Many thanks.
