The final round 12 of the Mid-week IOM Winter Championship took place on Wednesday 23rd March 2016. It started off as an overcast day with a very slight breeze primarily from the WNW. The course was a windward/leeward course at the south end of the lake. As the day progressed the wind increased but back round more to the west. However, to the end of the event, the wind dropped off again with the last race taking almost twice the time of any other race.
Since Colin Goodman and Graham Bartholomew were both away, this opened up the racing to others with John Newton taking five wins, Malcolm Schaffer four and Ray Bland one. This left the overall winner on the day as John Newton on 11 points, followed by Malcolm Schaffer on 13 points and Ray Bland third on 18 points.
As this was the last round, it actually made no difference to the overall position of the Mid-week IOM Winter Championship and so Colin Goodman was the winner with 7 points, followed by Graham Bartholomew on 14 points and John Newton third on 17 points.
The Spring Mid-week IOM Championship will commence on Wednesday 6th April 2016.
